Diabetes and HIV

Why are HIV patients developing type 2 diabetes at a higher rate?

Evidence suggests that people that are being treated for HIV infection are developing type 2 diabetes at a higher rate compared to those who are not infected. Experts suggest the development of insulin resistance in these people is the cause of type 2 diabetes. The term insulin resistance was originally used to describe the percents of high levels of blood glucose as well as well as adequate insulin. Over the years it has been changed to imply a cause, as the cause of developing type 2 diabetes.

I believe this is not correct. Watch this video or follow below to the transcript to learn why I think HIV patients are developing type 2 diabetes.

In order for a scientific concept to be accepted as fact, it should be validated through logic, mechanism and measurement. For example, what is the logic of saying that only 3, muscle, fat and liver cells, in the body become resistant to insulin in a person who is type 2 diabetes, when there 200 different types of cell in the body. Nobody has explained or clarified a mechanism at any of one of these three sites. Without these two all you can measure is the symptom which is blood glucose rather than the degree of insulin resistance. In other words insulin resistance as the cause of type 2 diabetes has never been validated.

So why are people infected with HIV having more incidents of type 2 diabetes?

The medications, the antiretroviral agents used to treat HIV can also block a mechanism of formation of fat cell. When these patients feel better because of their treatment, they start eating more and the fat produced in the body, as a consequence, has no place to be stored, but to stay in the blood. And this prompts muscles to switch to fat burning, instead of burning glucose, leaving glucose in the blood, leading to high blood glucose level later term or diagnosed as type 2 diabetes.

In fact, this mechanism is similar to what I have described in my book Diabetes: The Real Cause and The Right Cure, where I state that we have inherited a defined amount of fat storage capability from our parents. When that fat stores are filled up, fat stays in the blood and muscles switch to fatty acid burning leaving glucose in the blood, leading to the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. So the validation of my concept is coming from the experience of people who are being treated with antiretroviral agents because of their HIV infection.

When Your Child Has Cancer: Insights and Information to Empower Parents

I hope you help me share that my fourth book is now available on Amazon, the second on the topic of cancer. If you are the parent of a child with cancer, the questions and feelings you have can be overwhelming. In this insightful and thoughtful book, you will find information, hope, advice, and solace.

When Your Child Has Cancer expertly guides you to understand childhood cancer. I offer two new scientific theories to explain how the leading types of childhood cancers might occur, given that children have not lived long enough to develop the number of gene mutations that usually cause adult cancers. You will learn how you as parents can care for your child with cancer.

Most importantly, you will learn how your child’s diet can be a key corollary element in controlling cancer along with the medical treatments.
