My Mama’s Kitchen with Johnny Tan Interview

Last week I was interviewed by Johnny Tan of My Mama’s Kitchen, Inspirations for better living using strategic thinking and planning, and emotional intelligence to live in the genius zone of your highest self. I enjoyed conversing about my life’s journey, and sharing my three illustrated short stories from my latest book, When Your Child Has Cancer.

If you are the parent of a child with cancer, the overwhelming multitude of questions, feelings, and associated anxieties are hard to contain. What caused cancer? What can you as, a parent, do to help your child live through it? What is the future for your child? Listen below to the interview.

I have practiced medicine as a pediatrician and allergist for more than 30 years. I began his practice in 1974 and retired in 2008. I hold certifications from the American Board of Pediatrics, The American Board of Allergy & Immunology, and the Canadian Board of Pediatrics.

My latest book, “When Your Child Has Cancer,” is an insightful and thoughtful look at hope, advice, and solace. You will learn how you, as parents, can care for your child with cancer with understanding and sensitivity, creating a loving home environment full of communal activities to reduce everyone’s stress and worry. Most importantly, I explains why your child’s diet can be a crucial corollary element in controlling cancer and medical treatments. You will learn how a diet low in grains and grain-flour products slows cancer cell growth, giving your child’s immune system a better chance to contain it.

I’m proposing a new theory of childhood cancer based on stem cells. Stem cells are mother cells that produce new baby cells when needed either to replace cells lost because of old age or injury or infection. For example, let’s look at the lining of our intestine. The cells that line the intestine lasts only 5 days. When you have a cut on your skin you need new cells for healing. When you have an infection, white cells are damaged and destroyed they need to be replaced. In all these cases stem cells produce new cells to replace the ones that are lost or needed and most importantly stop the production when the need is met. Whereas in cancer, the stem cells continue to multiply without responding to any inhibitors signal. Why this happens is what I propose in my new book.

When Your Child Has Cancer: Insights and Information to Empower Parents

I hope you help me share that my fourth book is now available on Amazon, the second on the topic of cancer. If you are the parent of a child with cancer, the questions and feelings you have can be overwhelming. In this insightful and thoughtful book, you will find information, hope, advice, and solace.

When Your Child Has Cancer expertly guides you to understand childhood cancer. I offer two new scientific theories to explain how the leading types of childhood cancers might occur, given that children have not lived long enough to develop the number of gene mutations that usually cause adult cancers. You will learn how you as parents can care for your child with cancer.

Most importantly, you will learn how your child’s diet can be a key corollary element in controlling cancer along with the medical treatments. The eBook is only $2.99 for September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
