I wrote this book because I myself was diagnosed with cancer nearly five years ago, and I am sincerely interested in helping others return to health as I have done. I recently made a short video where I explain to my readers and future readers why I wrote the book. I hope you will take a minute to watch this video.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1105″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3Yu1b-Zk9I&feature=youtu.be”][vc_column_text]
Surviving Cancer recently received a testimonial from a noted oncologist and this is what he said:
This is an excellent book…very informative and useful. It is factually supported, eminently readable and lucidly written. Surviving Cancer provides insight and valuable advice for anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer. As an oncologist working in this field for decades, I highly recommend this book. — M.V. Pillai. This week, the world brought attention to Women and Diabetes during World Diabetes Day. I have found links between our eating habits with regards to both diabetes & cancer and many women today are threatened with cancer at alarming rates. Cancer especially appears to be rising among African-American women. My book will help answer why this is happening and bring awareness to some of the causes of cancer in many women, the treatments that are currently in use, and the specific steps that a woman can take to survive her cancer.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Weight gain and cancer in women
Obesity has been linked to an increased incidence of hormone sensitive breast cancer. The majority of breast cancer in African American women are of this type. The statistics for obese African American women and the incidence of cancer show a clear connection of rising values.
As reported by the American Cancer Society, from 1999 to 2002, the obesity rate in black women was just 39 percent, but from 2009 to 2012, the obesity rate in black women rose to 58 percent. Meanwhile, the obesity rate among white women stabilized at about 33 percent. During the same period, the incidence of breast cancer steadily increased in black women, compared to stable rates in white women.
What might be the link between obesity and breast cancer?
There might be several:
- obesity may alter the composition of collagen fibers such as those in the breast, which could then become cancerous.
- excess body fat has been found to encourage cancer formation through higher levels of substances known as growth factors.
- the conversion of excess glucose into acetyl-CoA by the liver provides raw material to produce cholesterol to be used for the production of female hormones such as estrogen that promote cancer growth.
This was just one small entry in the book about women and cancer. You will learn many other interesting and useful facts about women and cancer in the book. If you are a woman with cancer, I sincerely hope you will consider reading my book as soon as possible. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
A New Perspective on Why Cancer Happens & Your Key Strategies for a Healthy Life
This book will be an invaluable resource for anyone who has already been diagnosed with cancer localized to a single site of origin and not yet colonized in another part of the body. It is also for anyone who believes they are at risk of cancer due to heredity, lifestyle, working conditions, stress levels, or for any other reason. And finally, this book is especially important for anyone with Type 2 diabetes, a population that is twice as likely to develop certain types of cancer compared to individuals who do not have diabetes.
